Comic Strips at George Spicer School
In September, gareth from Delta CLC visited Alison Martin and her year 5 class. Gareth took 10 laptops, 10 digital cameras with the intention of creating some comic strips. Alison had already been working with the children in their literacy lessons to think about planning, dialogue and connectives. The comics became an outcome to this work. Over two days the children took pictures and created the first page of a comic strip around their first day back at school after the holidays. Take a look at these examples.
We learned a lot through this project about how comics can support different levels of literacy and how digital images can really support children's writing. If you would like to get involved with this kind of project email Gareth (gareth@deltaclc.org.uk).
